Governance, Security, and Resilience: ZeroRisk's AWS Cloud Strategy
The client and the context
ZeroRisk operates in an industry where reliability, security, and the continuity of digital services are essential requirements. With users and services spread across multiple geographic regions, the company neededan AWS cloud infrastructure capable of ensuring scalability, governance, data protection, and operational resilience.
Throughout this process, VMEngine has worked alongside ZeroRisk to develop a cloud strategy designed to support critical services, ensuring high standards of security and business continuity.
The challenge
The goal was to create an environment AWS environment capable of combining security, resilience, and governance, going beyond mere infrastructure.
ZeroRisk was supposed to:
- protect data and applications;
- reduce vulnerability to cyberattacks;
- ensure business continuity even when traffic volumes are high;
- Simplify operational management through AWS managed services.
It was also necessary to define a model that would allow for a clear division of responsibilities between the cloud provider and the internal team, thereby improving compliance, control, and governance.
The VMEngine Solution
VMEngine has designeda cloud architecture on Amazon Web Services (AWS) focused on security, performance, and resilience.
The solution involved the implementation of a Web Application Firewall (WAF) to protect web applications, as well as threat detection to promptly identify anomalous behavior and potential threats.
The architecture was developed following the AWS’s shared responsibility model, leveraging managed services to delegate tasks such as patch management, infrastructure updates, and certificate management. This approach allows the team to focus on higher-value activities, such as data protection and cloud environment governance, workload migration, andcost optimization.
Benefits
Thanks to the new AWS cloud architecture, ZeroRisk now has a more secure, resilient, and scalable environment, designed to support the evolution of critical services over time. The introduction of the WAF strengthens application security, while threat detection tools enable continuous monitoring of potential threats and a greater ability to respond to security incidents.
The new architecture also promotes more effective governanceof the cloud infrastructure and reduces operational complexity through the use of AWS managed services. This approach allows the internal team to devote more time to strategic activities, such as data protection, business continuity,cloud architecture evolution, andAWS environment optimization.
"We needed an infrastructure capable of ensuring business continuity without compromising on control and security. Our collaboration with VMEngine has enabled us to build a robust, resilient cloud environment designed to support our organization's growth while maintaining high standards of reliability and security."
