The client and the context

Yeppon is an Italian e-commerce company specializing in the sale of technology, computing and consumer electronics. Over the years it has built a solid reputation thanks to competitive prices, a constantly expanding catalog and efficient customer service. In a market dominated by international giants, Yeppon has been able to distinguish itself by emphasizing its “made in Italy” approach and attention to the end customer.

The challenge

As business continued to grow and online sales consolidated, Yeppon was faced with an increasingly common challenge in the e-commerce world: ensuring high performance, scalability, and service continuity at all times, even during unexpected spikes in traffic.

Black Friday, seasonal sales, and timed promotions represented crucial but also potentially infrastructure-critical times.

The presence of legacy systems, still partly on-premise, limited the flexibility of the technology architecture. Technical interventions required time and resources, while the user experience – especially on mobile – suffered from loading times that were not always optimal. In this context, Yeppon needed not only to modernize the infrastructure, but also to embark on a broader path of digital transformation, capable of enabling continuous innovation and supporting sustainable growth over time.

The VMEngine Solution

VMEngine met this challenge with a consultative approach geared toward personalization and technological sustainability. The first step was to analyze the existing ecosystem, identifying critical points and opportunities for improvement.

From there, a cloud-native transformation project was born, based on AWS technologies and a strong focus on scalability andreliability.

The migration to the cloud was planned in phases, ensuring business continuity. The most strategic workloads were progressively moved to amodular infrastructure, integrating serverless and event-driven services, capable of dynamically adapting to traffic and business needs.

The adoption of solutions such as AWS Lambda, Amazon S3, and API Gateway has made application management more streamlined and efficient, reducing maintenance costs.

In parallel, automation, pipeline CI/CD, and proactive monitoring tools were introduced, allowing Yeppon’s internal team to focus on strategic activities, freeing themselves from the complexity of traditional infrastructure. The entire intervention was based on a logic of co-design, with VMEngine in the role of technology partner rather than mere supplier.

Benefits

VMEngine’s intervention led to concrete and measurable results:

  • Reduced page load times by 40%, directly impacting conversion;

  • Total flexibility in managing traffic volumes, with no interruptions even at times of peak demand;

  • Automation and simplification of IT processes, resulting in reduced operational costs;

  • Increased speed in introducing new features through tailored CI/CD pipelines;

  • A leaner and more efficient IT team, free to focus on innovation and growth.

"We rely on VMEngine for all kinds of support on the AWS cloud, and we are satisfied with the service. One of the strengths is the ongoing relationship we have created: in fact, this allows us to deal directly with their technicians to quickly resolve any issue related to the use of the platform."
