Industry 4.0, Benefits for Businesses: The Cloud Is the Investment You Really Need

Who said there’s a lack of opportunities for growth in Italy?

Who said we’re a burden on Europe?

Something new is on the horizon: we’re talking about Industry 4.0. Who knows how many times we’ve heard about it without ever asking ourselves what it means.

First of all, it should be noted that we are talking about a segment with significant market value. Suffice it to say that a study by Markets&Markets, a U.S.-based B2B research firm, estimates a total value of $152.31 billion by 2022, with an annual growth rate of 14.72%. The topic was also the focus of the 2016 World Economic Forum in Davos in 2016, titled “Mastering the Fourth Industrial Revolution.” And in this case, Italy is certainly not bringing up the rear—quite the contrary. According to data from a study by The European House Ambrosetti, revenue stood at 1.8 billion euros in 2016.

And that is why the Italian government, too, has recently placed this issue—which is becoming increasingly significant in Italy’s economic, social, political, and cultural debates—at the center of its agenda. In July of last year, the Ministry of Economic Development, led by Carlo Calenda, presented a fact-finding study on the application of Industry 4.0 models to the Italian business sector, announcing the inclusion in the Budget Law of a major investment plan to promote the digitization of Italian businesses.

The measure proposes a combination of tax incentives, support for venture capital, the expansion of ultra-broadband, and education from elementary school through college, with the ultimate goal of encouraging and incentivizing businesses to adapt to and fully embrace the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The incentive package is set to launch this month and aims not only to support businesses but also to empower young people in Southern Italy. With an investment of 100 million euros, disbursed through the Digitalization Voucher, the Ministry will assist companies planning to digitize their operations. Thus, from January 30 to February 9, 2018, it will be possible to apply for a grant in the form of a voucher to purchase hardware, software, and services.

In the world of technology and IT services, there are two words that serve as the lowest common denominator: we’re referring to cloud computing. It is the basic ingredient of all “technological recipes.” From e-commerce—the new frontier of shopping—to online information and artificial intelligence, the “cloud” is an indispensable element in the era of the “data-driven” economy.

VMEngine has developed a customized package for small and medium-sized businesses that aspire to grow by becoming key players in Industry 4.0. In addition to the digitalization voucher, you’ll have access to a program reserved exclusively for Amazon Web Services reseller partners, through which we’ll be able to build a cloud infrastructure for each business with minimal impact on operating costs.

The benefits and opportunities that adopting the cloud offers businesses are now well known, and here you can evaluate them objectively.

All that’s left is to rely on the world’s best cloud provider. As for infrastructure development and the quality of our support, our 10 years of experience and our customers’ complete satisfaction are the best credentials we can offer.
