Who said there’s a lack of opportunities for growth in Italy?<\/p>\n

Who said we’re a burden on Europe?<\/p>\n

Something new is on the horizon: we\u2019re talking about Industry 4.0<\/strong>. Who knows how many times we\u2019ve heard about it without ever asking ourselves what it means. <\/p>\n

First of all, it should be noted that we are talking about a segment with significant market value. Suffice it to say that a study by Markets&Markets<\/a>, a U.S.-based B2B research firm, estimates a total value of $152.31 billion by 2022, with an annual growth rate of 14.72%. The topic was also the focus of the 2016 World Economic Forum<\/strong><\/a> in Davos in 2016, titled \u201cMastering the Fourth Industrial Revolution.\u201d And in this case, Italy is certainly not bringing up the rear\u2014quite the contrary. According to data from a study by The European House Ambrosetti<\/strong><\/a>, revenue stood at 1.8 billion euros in 2016. <\/p>\n

And that is why the Italian government, too, has recently placed this issue\u2014which is becoming increasingly significant in Italy\u2019s economic, social, political, and cultural debates\u2014at the center of its agenda. In July of last year, the Ministry of Economic Development<\/strong><\/a>, led by Carlo Calenda<\/strong>, presented a fact-finding study on the application of Industry 4.0 models to the Italian business sector, announcing the inclusion in the Budget Law<\/strong> of a major investment plan<\/strong> to promote the digitization of Italian businesses. <\/p>\n

The measure proposes a combination of tax incentives<\/strong>, support for venture capital, the expansion of ultra-broadband, and education from elementary school through college, with the ultimate goal of encouraging and incentivizing businesses to adapt to and fully embrace the Fourth Industrial Revolution.<\/p>\n
