Hewlett-Packard acquired LeftHand Networks on October 1<\/a> to open its market to the new logic of storage virtualization, storage clustering, or rather commodity-based storage clusters.<\/p>\n

LeftHand Networks, a pioneer in iSCSI SAN technology, offers scalable storage software for the standard hardware industry. With the LeftHand, HP’s portfolio of virtualization solutions for small and medium-sized businesses is extended, reducing training and overall complexity of use and using common and cost-effective storage servers. As a result, companies can move to a SAN for the significantly lower cost, manage their data more easily, and scale their data storage infrastructure as incrementally as their business does.<\/p>\n

We had already looked at this technology in particular SAN\/iQ and had already had discussions about it with many storage professionals, including friends at HP.<\/p>\n
