Yesterday Microsoft published the price-model for its Windows Azure Cloud. What’s interesting about the model is that it appears to be very similar to the Amazon Web Services model.<\/p>\n
Amazon<\/a> is asking for $12.5 cents for each hour of a Windows Server base, in contrast to Microsoft<\/a> has stated that the price will be 12 cents. The service will be free until November. It’s not yet clear whether comparing Windows Azure to Windows Amazon EC2 is a fair comparison given the drastic differences in functionality. \nMicrosoft Windows Azure defines its as a “cloud services operating system”, which serves development. They also said that a Private Cloud solution will be offered. This will most likely be a development of their current Hyper-V based virtual infrastructure.
