The experiment presented during a planned failure at a Trident Warrior lab period, Dataline Secure Cloud Computing used an on-board simulated infrastructure to demonstrate secure access to selected collaboration applications and geospatial information services (GIS). The purpose was to validate the capability of a Commercial Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) to support the Department of the Navy&#8217;s requirements for global connectivity, server failover and application access.<\/p>\n<p>Bill Gerety, Dataline CEO, highlighted the partnership with AWS saying, &#8220;Dataline is proud to explore the use of secure cloud computing technologies with Amazon Web Services.&#8221; After observing the proof of concept, SPAWAR representatives showed similar sentiments, stating that the Navy was actively considering the use of cloud computing technologies as part of its Naval Enterprise Networks.
